Paul Newman

I have been looking at a lot of photos of Paul Newman lately while researching spring looks for men. Though these photos are 40 or 50 years old they look modern and fresh. Perhaps it is because he embodied classic American ruggedness. He was together but a bit undone. Always showing a bit of himself through his sly smile and his confidence reflected in his pool blue eyes. Fashion is about confidence and creating style of your own. It is about you being comfortable with who you are and what you are in. It is about your smile and what makes your eyes twinkle. What makes you stand tall and walk with grace.

Floppy Hats

Vintage 1970’s YSL Patchwrok Hat

These Yves Saint Laurent hats are a throw back to the 70’s hats that he designed. I can not wait until Fall to wear a felt one. Until then I have a big white floppy woven Summer hat.

1970 Plymouth Barracuda

The Barracuda was manufactured between 1964-1974. I want to lick this one, seriously, it so cool that it reminds me of those freeze pops.

The ones from the 70’s are my favorite.

1966 Barracuda. The ones from the 60’s are slighter in build. I like the muscle of the 70’s models.

If I owned one I would like it painted a metallic bronze.

Plymouth executives originally wanted to call the car Panda. I happy that they chose to go with Barracuda. It sounds way more ferocious.

Hot red convertible.

Although the Heart song Barracuda has nothing to do with the car, the song is sexy and powerful. It fits the mood of the car. Also, Nancy and Ann were pretty hot. Take that for a drive.

Fly Fishing

This shot is just awesome.

Joan Wulff is the most accomplished female fly fishers of all time.

I really like to fly fish. Its tranquil. It requires a lot patience and with that can come inner peace.

I love sport clothing from the early part of the century. It was an event. that was dressed for. The attire for fly fishing still requires waders if the water is cold. But commonly classic knit wear is not donned. I went fishing in a ball gown once. It was not successful.

 

Swim Suit Season

1929 swimwear. They are so cute. But I think that I would wear these out with boots or platforms as a dress.

Stunning silhouettes from the 1950’s. I think the curvy boned corset look from that era is super sexy.

Cool animal print bikini from the late 50’s.

I seriously do not think anything needs to be said.

This is a pretty easy to copy swim suit. I will post at some point my version. As a safety precaution I am not sure the glasses are safe to wear while operating a motor vehicle

1945 two piece swim suit. I really love this photo. The model has amazing legs and the swim suit is awesome.

Again, I am at a loss for words…rather I have to many words that fill my mind when I see this pic. I like how small he looks between the two bathing suit clad girls on his desk. 

 

Tuesday Weld

I think that Tuesday Weld has one of the most fragile voices. It sounds like it is breaking at times. Her voice moves me as does her beauty.

She always seems strong but frail. A women but a girl. I love this photo. The robe and the back light. Her gaze. She is quietly beautiful.

This dress is amazing. I long to find one like it.
